We have come together to discuss the potential applications of new technologies in various aspects of the art industry (e.g., production, exhibition, sales, conservation and restoration, archive, education, and cultural policy) in a more proactive manner. Despite the importance of this topic for the future art industry, there is still little environment for discussion, especially in terms of industry-government-academia exchanges.

私たちは、美術業界の様々な側面 (e.g., 作品制作、展示、取引、保存・修復、アーカイブ、教育、文化政策) における新たな技術の応用可能性について、より積極的な議論を行いたいという考えのもと集まりました。こうした視点が将来の美術業界にとってより重要になると強く感じている一方、国内では議論を行う環境がまだ十分に整っておらず、特に産・官・学の交流が活発ではない点に問題意識を持っています。

Why international journals and conferences? / なぜ国際会議の開催と論文誌の発行を目指すのか？

We aim to publish an international journal and conference because they are probably the most effective means of promoting industry-government-academia exchanges. The international journal and conference, a venue of interacting various players through research presentations, will provide beneficial opportunities for (1) industry to facilitate networking and recruiting, (2) government to grasp the knowledge on cultural policy more intensively, and (3) academia to present their latest research under the new category of “the potential applications of new technologies in the art world”, respectively.

国際会議の開催と論文誌の発行を目指す理由は、それらが恐らくは産・官・学交流の促進に最も有効な手段であるためです。研究者による発表を軸に美術業界の様々なプレイヤーが交流する場は、①産業界にはネットワーキングやリクルーティングの機会を、②行政には文化政策について産学の知見をこれまで以上に集約的に把握する機会を、③学術界には「美術業界における新たな技術の応用可能性」という新たな括りで研究発表を行う機会を提供できるため、各々にとって意義があると考えています。

How to achieve this? / どのように実現するのか？

We would like to achieve this goal by covering management and development costs with your donations. OAC is currently considering detailed specifications for the international journal and conference (which will be posted on this webpage as soon as completed) with the minimum amount of funding, but also working on a YouTube channel in order to raise awareness of our activities, thereby collecting donations from a wider range of people. 

この目標は、その運営・開発資金を皆様からの寄附で賄うことによって実現させたいと考えています。現在は必要最低限の資金を用いて国際会議と論文誌の詳細な仕様策定を行っている段階 (完成次第webページに掲載いたします) ですが、私たちの活動の認知度を高めつつ今後より広く皆様からの寄附を募るべく、並行してYouTubeチャンネルの運営とwebページ上の寄附フォーム開設を進めております。
